ON the staff shortages at Stroud Minor Injuries Unit.

Posted by Lebens Gefahr: The Tories can’t have it both ways, Stroud MIU lost its night cover due to as they said lack of demand, now people are being transferred from another Unit to cope with demand. Under-Funding and Staff shortages are the problem - Tory Lansley’s reorganisation is to blame for the absolute chaos in the NHS, Posted by MoreSilentMajority: Of course it’s the Tories fault for letting Labour drain the Treasury dry while adding multiple layers of micro-managers with inflated salaries, in their last turn at the feeding trough, then fighting tooth and nail to keep the Tories from any meaningful changes since we got fed up and threw them out. It’s never Labour’s fault, and especially not Jeremy’s. He’s not responsible - in oh, so many ways.

Posted by Flash1971: The government have been in charge since 2010, and yet it’s still the fault of Gordon Brown et al. Why don’t you remove your head from your backside and look around you! You might actually see what’s going on in our society!

Posted by Stroudman: Following the Blair/Brown efforts at off balance sheet funding using the PFI route the NHS is paying 2,000,000,000 a year.for the Blair/Brown NH ‘improvements’ That accounts for the lingering references and the appalling state of affairs Posted by Flash1971: First of all Stroud Hospital is NOT PFI, so wrong there. Also PFI was introduced by John Major, pretty sure he was a conservative PM, so wrong again. But hey don’t let the truth get in the way of your fake news.

Posted by Stroudman: John Major did introduce the idea of PFI but the Blair/Brown axis expanded it beyond any reason into a huge way to implement uncosted expansion so that they could claim the ‘huge benefit of socialism’. Problem is that it left the whole of the NHS with the burden. Some other government services, like Police, are similarly affected but not, fortunately, to the degree that the NHS is. So your words are the fake politically motivated ones here abouts.

Posted by Flash1971: So during times of austerity and cuts we can find 1billion for the DUP but nothing hardworking NHS/Police/Firefighters.Just shows what the priority of this government is really about. Everytime I hear the PM tells us she’s on the side of hard working people I laugh my socks off. Goodbye Stroud hospital, goodbye NHS it was nice knowing you!

Last Updated: 29th June 9:36 pm STROUDMAN 29th June 11:36 am I didn’t know the Stroud Hospital was closing or the NHS was doomed. Then again perhaps Flash1971 is, as suspected, hot air and political rhetoric but not much else.

I get most of my information from Hansard, a generally reliable source. Yours appears to primarily from ???, Socialist Worker perhaps.

clams 29th June 2:47 pm As Stroudman says it was Blair/Brown who took PFI to a different level in order to cook the books as PFI at the time was not accounted for as part of the deficit. Large sums were borrowed without paying anything upfront, sound familiar? The downside is we will be paying for these deals for the next 50 years but obviously at higher interest rates, so I wouldn’t blame the Tories for everything.

Lebens Gefahr 29th June 9:56 pm The Tories are dismantling the NHS as we speak, you are witnessing this in Stroud, open your eyes. Secondly I will not apologise for the PFI under Brown which was both unacceptable and unnecessary, but the pales into insignificance when you look at what the Tories have actually done to the NHS. The NHS is now just a logo for private health companies to hide behind. The Tories have since 2010 taken 42 billion out of the NHS, whilst telling people like you that they have increased spending on it. They tell lies and you are only too pleased to lap it it up, I just hope you appreciate the meaning of the NHS when you will need it most and it not there.

Incidently people like you that do not understand economics, are being taken to the cleaners, we have all the money we need for all our public services, just google money creation and the Bank of England and find out for yourself.

Failing that, remember we bailed out the Banks when the whole world banking system had crashed to the tune of 375 billion, and whenever the Tories get themselves into a mess, they splash money around as though it were confetti, ask yourself, where did they find 1 billion to bribe the DUP when they say they can’t afford Nurses and Doctors, or Firemen, or other public workers pay rises.

Finally It was the bankers that crashed the economy and as you don’t know, we have a fiat money system, and unlike those in Europe tied to the Euro, we can never go broke, Liam Byrne the idiot, thought he left the note for Osborne as joke.

You like many that don’t actually know what your talking about, and just repeat what they read or hear in the media, but the facts are there if you look back at recent events, where do you think the Tories got all that money to bribe the DUP? The Bank of England is the magic money tree and always has been.

clams 29th June 11:04 pm You lost your argument at “I will not apologise” the rest of your diatribe is pointless.

clams 29th June 10:57 pm Oh yes and when the Labour Gov’t asked the IMF to bail us out in 76 btw we are still paying for that as well.

Lebens Gefahr 30th June 1:21 pm The cost of that loan was 3.9 billion and we didn’t borrow all of that, do you seriously think we are still paying for that???

Compare that to the latest Tory doubling of the national debt, from 900 billion to 1.7 trillion how I wonder did that happen?
