A BOOK of light-hearted poetry has been published to raise money for the renovation of Holy Trinity Church in Minchinhampton.

Author, Hilary Kemmett, published a humorous poetry book back in 2011, raising more than £1,000 for Minchinhampton Surgery.

Now Hilary has decided the time is right to release her most recent rhymes and recollections.

All the work is original and Hilary admits a large number of the poems have been written from personal experiences around the Stroud Valley and on holidays.

Having lived in Minchinhampton for 40 years she is happy to give something back to the town she calls home.

“Writing poetry has always been a hobby of mine and not a profession,” said Hilary.

"So it seems a good idea to use my writing and illustrations to raise funds for this local Appeal.

“To date we have raised about £300 from the book and we hope to sell many more copies!"

Hilary’s book called, Heaven Knows, is available for £5 in the Church and at several shops around Minchinhampton.

In addition the Minchinhampton parish office, Stafford Cottage and Henry's coffee shop have copies for sale, as do church members.
