FUNDING for youth development and activities is available for community groups from Stroud District Council.

The youth grant funding programme for 2017/2018 includes two separate funds, with an application deadline of Friday, September 1.

Stroud District Council has delivered youth work based participation since 2006 and through a unique relationship with Stroud District Youth Council, recognises them as the active voice for young people in the district.

The two funding programmes have been designed to assist communities most at risk and those with larger youth populations.

There is £30,000 available within the Stroud Youth Development Fund, applicant groups can claim up to £7,500 of this, or £15,000 if a joint application is submitted.

Meanwhile, there is £15,000 up for grabs in the Stroud Youth Activities Fund, with a maximum of £1,500 for each application, which is distributed in rounds – in which groups may apply for further support.

Both funds boost an aim by SDC to make a positive difference to young people and community groups which support youngsters to become active citizens in their community.

Applications are open to all young people and projects, whose majority of beneficiaries are aged 11-18 and up to 25 years for young people with special needs.
