GIFFORDS Circus has arrived back in Minchinhampton on its national tour which began in Stroud in May.

Following sell out shows at in Henley and London, attracting famous fans such as Hugh Grant, Dawn French, Helena Bonham-Carter and Adele to the show, the circus arrived on Minchinhampton Common.

This year's show is called Any Port in a Storm and included lavish costumes designed by takis and comic performances directed by the amazing Cal McCrystal who is credited as ‘the brains behind some of the funniest theatre in Britain.’

The show is on Minchinhampton Common, close to the primary academy, until Monday, August 21.

“The performances are high energy, slapstick and acrobatic and will leave you gasping in awe and laughing until your sides ache," a spokesman said.

“The setting is the Spanish Court in the 17th Century and everyone's favourite clown Tweedy returns to tickle your fancy along with flamenco dancers, hilarious acrobats, a gymnast, a high energy Cuban acrobatic troupe and the wonderful Giffords band playing live music throughout the show.”

Alongside the circus, the UK's only travelling restaurant 'Circus Sauce' is back with critical acclaim.

After the evening performance 60 people will be seated under canvas for an amazing three-course meal.

Also on offer were pizzas made by Stroud-based The Chadwick Oven and the new Field Food wagon, a take on street food but from the fields.
