New restaurants, takeaways, and cafes are opening in Stroud - and we are all the better for them.

Recently, Simpsons Fish and Chips in Bedford Street, opened with a street party with guests including Mayor Kevin Cranston and Stroud MP David Drew.

The Diner, opened by Keith Allen and his wife Tamzin Malleson, has been welcomed for its real American theme and great atmosphere.

A few months ago the former Italian restaurant Ciao Eatalia reopened as Piazza Italia Trattoria, with a whole new lease of life.

All of these new eateries have opened and Stroud Fringe is just around the corner, a perfect opportunity for all of the town’s businesses to show what they can do for the thousands of visitors who are coming here for music, culture and food.

It may be nothing out of the ordinary that new restaurants or cafes are opening but something seems different.

New places are opening as Stroud is showing off its prowess as a hotspot for great food in this part of the world.
