Stroud secured a nine-wicket victory over Frocester seconds.

Earlier, Frocester won the toss and elected to bat first - a decision they may well have regretted after being put to the sword early on.

Captain Will Golding and Luke Palmer (5-2-11) bowled in perfect tandem to decimate the opposition top order. Golding claiming a superb hat-trick on the way to a brilliant 4-22.

Having been reduced to 35-5 Frocester found some resistance in the middle order from Chris Whincup (31) and Chad Trainor (20). Stroud's Chris Job (9-3-30) however proved too good and removed both batsmen.

No.9 Tom Morris arrived at the crease and showed his intent from the off. The tailender bludgeoned a quick fire 50 before trying one big shot too many to leave Frocester 159 all out inside 41 overs.

Stroud's reply started strongly with openers Tom Horrell and Adam Jones looking solid.

The partnership continued and Horrell looked set for a half century only to be adjudged lbw for 48.

Dominic Thompson joined Jones in the middle and the pair continued to dominate the opposition bowlers.

Jones passed his 50 and continued to impress. Both batsmen took Stroud across the finish line securing a nine-wicket wicket victory. Jones and Thompson hitting a wonderful 70* and 26* respectively.
