AS A-level results flood in across the UK, there was pure delight at Marling School in Stroud after another successful year.

Marling School is celebrating another great year of A-level results with more than 31 per cent of exams at the very highest A* to A grades, 79 per cent at A* to C and the overall pass rate of 99 per cent.

A large number of boys exceeded their predicted grades with 15 students achieving three A grade passes or better, 42 achieving at least three A* to B grades and 30 students achieving at least one A*.

"This is a super set of results that reflect the determination and endeavour shown by the boys," said Dr Stuart Wilson(below), head teacher at Marling.

Stroud News and Journal:

"There are lots of individual success stories and I am really pleased for our students and for the staff who have worked so hard to support them.

"I would like to wish all of our students the very best as they continue their studies or start their careers."

Most boys have matched or exceeded their offers from universities including many of the highly selective universities requiring A* grades including Oxford, Cambridge, Durham and the London School of Economics.

Other students are taking a different pathway and have secured higher apprenticeships in a variety of fields.

In total 121 students sat A-level exams.
