AN INDOOR market stall style shop selling new and pre-loved festival clothing and accessories has opened in Stroud.

Shanti sells an eclectic mix of fashion and accessories, including glow-sticks, bucket hats, and headbands, catering for men, women, and children.

Shop owner, Niki Ali, said she has always had a love for one-off and unique clothing.

Even while in a full time job in corporate identity in London, she found time to fulfil her passion by working on market stands at both Camden and Portobello Road Market.

On leaving her job, Niki moved to Ibiza and worked at a yoga retreat, sparking her inspiration for the name of the shop, Shanti, the Hindu word for peace.

After travelling widely, sourcing items from North Africa, United Arab Emirates, and India to sell at various market stands, Niki settled in Stroud.

Eight years later. she has decided to bring a touch of market stall style to Gloucester Street.

Having received fantastic positive feedback in the weeks since opening, Niki is keen to encourage new customers to come and look around.

With constantly changing stock, the variety of items can range from big brands like Dior and Billabong to unicorn slippers.

Niki is also keen to expand her men’s pre-loved clothing section, an area she believes men struggle in.

Describing her shop, Niki said: “There is something for everybody, so just pop in and have a look.”

Shanti will be open every day over this weekend’s Stroud Fringe Festival.
