STROUD Town Council will hold a by-election next month for a seat vacated by Cllr Jim Thompson.
The seat is in the Trinity Ward and the election will take place on Thursday, September 28.
A spokesman said: "As the required number of electors have submitted a request to Stroud District Council, a by-election will be held in Trinity ward to fill a vacancy created by the resignation of Councillor Jim Thomson.
"If you are interested in standing for election and would like to find out more about what is involved in being a town councillor, please contact the Town Clerk for more information or you can read more about this important and rewarding role on the NALC website."
The closing date for submitting nominations is Friday, September 1.
