I HAVE just sent this letter to Stroud District Council about the increasing problem of speeding cyclists on Stroud’s High Street.
There will be a serious injury or fatality if measures are not taken.
Follows my letter to SDC: “Dear Sir, Madam - I have a small shop at the top of Stroud High Street.
“Every day, without fail, I am witness to several near misses by cyclists, both male and female and of a wide range of ages that race down the street at incredibly high speeds.
“I have almost been hit a few times and it is my firm opinion that someone will be seriously injured or killed if something is not down to slow down these dangerous and anti-social citizens.
“I am writing now because, once again, while bringing my street sign in after a day in the shop, I was almost hit by a cyclist at a speed of probably 35 to 40 mph.
“This is a serious problem and one which will end in a fatality if measures are not taken.
“I look forward to a swift response.”
