MARK COOPER has accused Lincoln City boss Danny Cowley of attention-seeking after an allegation of spitting against Forest Green keeper Brad Collins.

Tempers erupted at the end of Forest Green's 1-0 defeat to Lincoln City on Tuesday night, with Imps boss Danny Cowley accusing the Chelsea loanee of spitting at defender Sean Raggett.

"Their goalkeeper spat at Sean Raggett and we are categorical on that," Cowley told BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

Cooper responded to the allegations at today’s press conference, saying: “I think it’s out of order in using a young lad to hang him out to dry for the sake of a little bit of attention for yourself or your staff, so a little bit disappointed. Lincoln players are very good at what they do and deserve the credit and attention, not the manager and his brother.”

Imps boss Cowley is seeking retrospective action and confirmed the club has sent video evidence to the FA, but Cooper insists the matter has been dealt with and will remain in-house.
