Following arrests in connection with the Parson's Green bomb attack in London on Friday, the Home Secretary has announced that the threat level in Britain has been reduced to severe.
This means that an attack is highly likely rather than imminent.
Assistant Chief Constable Julian Moss says that officers will continue to have a visible presence across the county to provide reassurance and ensure the safety of communities.
"There was nothing to suggest that there was any specific threat to Gloucestershire but we did review our operations for the coming days.
"I would still urge everyone to be vigilant, aware of what is going on around them and report anything suspicious to the police.
"Working together we stand a better chance of defeating terrorism, so it is important that you come forward with information, however small you think it may be.
