Stonehouse Community Choir Sings for your Pleasure!

STONEHOUSE is lucky to have its own community choir.

Established three years ago, the choir has been going from strength to strength and now has over 60 members ‘on the books’ with about 40 turning up regularly for weekly rehearsals.

Singing in a choir is beneficial and enjoyable for those who participate, and the Community Choir likes to share their pleasure in song with the local community by organising a number of free concerts throughout the year.

Their Autumn Concert will take place on Monday, October 2, at St Josephs Church in Stonehouse, at 7.30pm and will feature songs from musical theatre together with other pieces from the choir’s repertoire.

On this occasion, the choir will be joined by brass ensemble, Harlequintet, who will be making their debut.

The musicians have known one another for over 30 years through performing together in various bands, groups and orchestras.

They promise to deliver music from many eras and styles.

Stonehouse Community Choir holds weekly rehearsals on Monday evenings at St Josephs’s Church Hall and new members are very welcome.

Experience is not necessary and there are no auditions.

There may be a gap in rehearsals following the October concert as the choir is currently on the lookout for a new Musical Director to lead it.

If you are interested in finding out more about this position or in joining the choir, please call Olga on 01453 824332.
