A 35-YEAR-OLD Stroud man has been given a suspended jail sentence after facing a number of charges including assault.
At Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court on Friday, Christopher Bidmead of Ben Grazebrooks Well Street, Stroud, admitted assaulting a woman on two occasions.
He assaulted her in Stroud between June 29 and July 7 and also on September 15.
Bidmead also destroyed part of her ceiling and destroyed her £300 mobile phone.
He also failed to provide a specimen of breath for analysis at Quedgeley on July 1.
Magistrates ordered him to pay the woman £500 compensation and ordered him not to contact her in any way during the next 18 months.
He was given a total of 16 weeks jail suspended for 18 months.
