A PARISH councillor has been announced as the Liberal Democrat candidate in the upcoming Stroud District Council by-election in Chalford.
Kris Beacham is a parish councillor in Chalford and works at Stroud Brewery.
He said: "I will bring energy and enthusiasm to the campaign and look forward to being able to represent Chalford on the District Council."
Polling day will be on Thursday, November 23, and all of the major parties have said they will be fielding candidates.
The seat was vacated due to the passing of Conservative councillor Liz Peters last month.
The announced candidates are Darren Loftus (Conservatives), Robin Lewis (Greens) and Kris Beacham (Lib Dems).
