EMPLOYEES at Woodlodge Products at Babdown Airfield near  Tetbury were left speechless yesterday when they bumped into former England captain David Beckham.

The ex-Man United player was browsing for antiques when the group of employees who were working across the road became aware of his presence.

Tim Day, who works at the company, which makes garden pots, couldn’t believe it when he realised the star was in town.

“Someone came running into the office and told everyone that David Beckham was just over the road,” said Tim, 34.

“When I went outside and saw he was actually there I couldn’t quite believe it and I had to pinch myself.”

A group of about 10 employees people gathered for a picture.

The football legend also signed a Man United scarf for Tim’s friend and a t-shirt for charity.

“He was very polite, signed a few things and was happy to have a group picture with us,” said Tim, who was awestruck despite supporting Leeds United.

“I’m sure he gets this kind of thing all the time so it was nice of him to stop even If it was briefly.”

Earlier this year the Beckham family purchased a property near Chipping Norton and Stow-on-the-Wold.
