Frampton Utd 3rds................................... 4

Alkerton Rangers..................................... 3

ALKERTON twice lead but paid the price for errors at crucial stages of this encounter.

The away side started brightly and almost went in front in the first minute but Charlie Henry could not quite slide Lewis Vanstone’s delivery the right side of the post.

However, on 14 minutes they did take the lead.

Chris Stark’s goal kick was headed on by Chris Pearce in midfield, and then Vanstone’s flick set Henry Turner away to calmly slot past the advancing keeper.

The home side levelled on 27 minutes from a header. The Frampton custodian then thwarted Turner directing his fierce drive wide.

Alkerton regained the advantage on 50 minutes when Vaughan Wilkinson played in Dave Potter who drilled the ball past the stopper.

Vanstone had the opportunity to extend their lead but his effort sailed past the upright. Poor defending allowed Frampton to go 3-2 up.

On 79 minutes, Vanstone redeemed himself when he was on hand to direct the ball in after Potter’s rasping drive came back of the bar. Vanstone’s trickery crafted himself another chance but his shot was blocked.

Kirk Wilkinson then hit the post from an acute angle after he cut in from the right, but Frampton had the last word with five minutes left on the clock.
