A GROUP of women in Stroud are doing their best to keep all sailors warm this winter.

Members of The Inner Wheel Club of Stroud have been making woolly hats for seamen who work in bitterly cold conditions.

The club is working in conjunction with the Sailors’ Society and it was suggested that warm headgear is a practical way to help.

Members of the Inner Wheel Club have been given simple patterns and have so far produced more than 40 woolly hats.

The club is hoping to continue its association with the Sailors’ Society and learn about the much needed support it gives to the men and their families they leave behind.
