THE following roads will be closed before and during Stroud Half Marathon, which starts at 9am at Marling School on Sunday, October 22.
● A419 Cainscross Road, between the Cainscross Roundabout and the Wallbridge roundabout at Merrywalks, between 07:30hrs and 12:30hrs.
● B4008 Standish Lane, between Standish Church and the junction with the A38, from 09:20hrs till 10:45hrs.
● The Nupend(Grove) Lane, running from the A38 at Whitminster to the entrance to the Shell Service Station on the island of the A419 near Chipmans Platt, from 09:30hrs till 11:00hrs.
Oldends Lane, Stonehouse, from the junction with the A419 to Midland Road, Stonehouse(over Railway Crossing), from 09:35hrs till 11:30hrs.
● Paganhill Lane, in both directions, between 09:50hrs and 11:30hrs.
With access granted for emergency vehicles and service buses.
● Dudbridge Roundabout to Cainscross Roundabout, from 08:45hrs till 11:30hrs.
A temporary 30mph speed restriction will also be in place along the A419 Bristol Road from Grove Lane to the junction with the B4008 between 07:30hrs and 12:30hrs.
WHERE TO WATCH
If you would like to come out and cheer the athletes along, the best vantage points are as follows:
● Cainscross Roundabout: 09:00hrs till 12:00hrs.
● Ebley from 09:00hrs till 12:00hrs.
● Stonehouse from 09:10hrs.till approx 09:35hrs
● Whitminster Inn from 09:25hrs till 10:40hrs. Live entertainment here and tea/coffee
- Nupend Trading Estate from 09:45hrs till 11:30hrs. Live entertainment here from Stroud Rock Choir
