Forest Green boss Mark Cooper has been forced into one enforced change from the team that beat Coventry City 1-0 on Tuesday night.
Charlie Cooper was ruled out following a horror tackle, which will see the midfielder set to miss more than six weeks of the season. Reece Brown replaced Cooper. Elsewhere, Toni Gomes dropped to the bench, with Alex Iacovitti taking his place. Goalkeeper Harry Pickering was recalled from Shortwood United to take his place on the bench after Sam Russell injured his hamstring on in training on Friday.
Stevenage named former Swindon Town, Luton Town and Forest Green midfielder Jonathan Smith in their line up.
Forest Green: B Collins; Bennett; Fitzwater, L Collins, Laird, Iacovitti; Traore, Osbourne, Marsh-Brown, Brown; Doidge
Subs: Pickering, Roberts, Wishart, Randall, Gomes, James, Bugiel
