A 29-year-old Stroud woman was remanded in custody today after she admitted smashing a glass in her boyfriend's face and badly injuring him.

Jessica Toledo, of Moseley Road, Stroud, pleaded guilty at Gloucester Crown Court to a charge of wounding the man with intent to cause him grievous bodily harm on April 1 this year.

He suffered a deep facial wound which needed stitching and which has left him with problems with his saliva glands.

Toledo was remanded in custody to await psychiatric reports on her mental health and was told she will be sentenced on December 8.
