Stroud and District Conservative Woman's Luncheon Club with Chris Brierley the Assistant Police and Crime Commissioner for Gloucestershire and speaker Fiona Warin with 'Dig for Victory'
THE Luncheon Club met in October and were given a most interesting talk by Chris Brierley the Assistant Police and Crime Commissioner for Gloucestershire.
He explained all aspects of policing in the county, and now they have to manage the funding.
The Chairman Wendy Cannon thanked Chris for his talk and said she hoped he would return again in the future.
The Chairman welcomed members to the November luncheon, she then introduced the speaker Fiona Warin who gave a fascinating talk titled 'Dig for Victory'.
Fiona showed many colourful posters that were issued during the war to encourage everyone to keep on growing their own food.
This fascinating talk took us from 1939 to the end of the war in 1945.
Lucy Chubb thanked Fiona for her talk.
Anyone interested in joining this friendly club please ring Wendy Cannon on 01453 886644.
