TOM ‘Uplifter’ Earwaker, a respected member of the UK reggae and dub scene, is seeking public support to produce a special 'Stroud vinyl' and video.
The Uplifter, as Tom is known, has performed all over the world, including New York, Croatia and New Zealand, but formed a deep connection with Stroud on the first of many visits 10 years ago.
He explained: “Since my first performance in Stroud I have been in love with the town, its people and the art community thriving there.
“From what I’ve seen it’s a fierce melting pot of creativity, and the Stroud Valleys Artspace, and the people involved with it have been such an inspiration to me.”
Tom hopes that the crowdfunding campaign will help him to create a 10 inch limited-edition vinyl and music video that ‘feels like Stroud’.
“I've had this idea of releasing a limited edition vinyl accompanied by a music video shot in Stroud on my mind for a long time,” he explained.
Watch Tom's humourous campaign video which includes familair scenes from around the valleys, and a tantalising snip of the final song below:
Money raised will cover the costs of sound production, a clear vinyl pressing, and album artwork.
