A SPECTACULAR display of Christmas lights in Stonehouse is helping to raise money for Help for Heroes.

The display, which has been set up by Jo and Vere Morley, includes reindeer, Santa's, Christmas Puddings, Christmas Trees, sledges, a singing and dancing Santa, enormous baubles and even a snow machine.

Jo and Vere originally put up their display for the enjoyment of their 21 grandchildren.

However, it became so popular that they decided they could use their display to raise money for worthy causes.

“One of my grandchildren attends the Shrubberies School,” said Jo.

“About five years ago we decided that should raise money for the school by asking for donations from people who enjoy our Christmas display.

“People were very generous and since then we have done it every year, each time for a different charity.

“I think we did Cancer Research UK one year and Rainbow Trust another year.”

Although, the display is for a good cause, Joe and Vere create it every year because it is something they deeply enjoy.

“Just seeing the children’s faces when they see the lights is very special, said Jo “People are always welcome to view the display and if anyone wants to see the snow machine in action then they can knock on the door.”

Jo and Vere’s display is every bit as spectacular this year and will remain up until the middle of January.

If anyone would like to make a donation there is a post box outside at the house.

The address is 11 Chaffinch Court, Stonehouse, GL10 2HU.
