AS the DJs behind Mumbo Jumbo get ready to celebrate 25 years of raving in Stroud at the newly opened Marshall Rooms this Friday, we look back at the infamous club night.

DJs Lobes, Rainbow, Pete, Rob, Monkey, Joe and Dom will be getting together a quarter of a century after the popular house night first took place at The Old Lodge in Minchinhmapton to play out some old skool house tunes over the legendary Black Box sound system.

Jamie Rainbow one of the Mumbo Jumbo DJs said: "We've been running for 25 years, we think we're the longest running DJ night in Stroud, maybe even in the South West.

"We love these reunion nights, it's an opportunity for everyone to get back together and see old mates that they maybe haven't seen for years.

"What blew us away over the 21st celebration was the amount of people who made an effort to come out of the woodwork and join us."

Anyone who grew up in or around Stroud in the 1990s will know of the hugely popular club night which first took place on October 16, 1992.

Ahead of their anniversary celebrations taking place on Friday, December 15, the SNJ have pulled together a photo gallery and old flyers for a nostalgic look back in time.

The Mumbo Jumbo boys have also provided us with a taster of what to expect this weekend at the Marshall Rooms

The Mumbo Jumbo 25th birthday party takes place at The Marshall Rooms from 10:00pm on Friday, December 15.

Tickets are £8 from Trading Post Records, Kendrick Street or on the door.
