A STROUD estate agent is asking for people to bring in donations for the local foodbank this Christmas.

Throughout December, Perry Bishop and Chambers estate agents are inviting everyone to pop in to their Stroud office on London Road or their Nailsworth office on Fountain Street, and drop off donations for a festive advent basket to support Stroud District foodbank.

Items to donate can include any non-perishable goods, mince pies, chocolates, tea, coffee, rice, pasta, cereal, jars of sauce, tins, soups and warm clothes.

Stroud District foodbank works throughout the year to support those who require food, warmth and company - the things that many of us require most over Christmas.

The Stroud District foodbank is a member of The Trussell Trust’s network, which has reported an increase in foodbank use across the UK.

In the months leading to Christmas, a number of factors, such as cold weather and high energy bills, mean The Trussell Trust’s foodbank network traditionally sees a spike in foodbank use.

Stroud District foodbank works hard to prepare for this seasonal demand and supplies additional special Christmas items to over 400 households.

On supporting Stroud foodbank, Melissa Cornwall of Perry Bishop and Chambers said: “We will deliver all the donations to help those who need it most over Christmas.”

“We hope you might join us in supporting this great cause.”

All donations can be dropped off at Perry and Bishop Chambers at either their Stroud office at 5, London Road or their Nailsworth office at 4, The Old George, Fountain Street.

The final date for donations is Friday, December 22.
