THE owner of Balti Nailsworth is hoping that out of the ashes of the huge fire that ripped through his Indian restaurant last year will rise a successful new venture thanks to an exciting new partnership and venue.

Following a plea from Raihad Ahmed for new premises after the blaze completely destroyed his George Street eatery Caroline Saturley, owner of The Vault, offered her kitchens and the second floor of her venue to the devastated restaurant owner.
Now the joint venture, which has been named The Vaulti by the pair, will open for service this Thursday, and both of the food entrepreneurs hope that the partnership will be the start of an exciting new venture for them both.

Speaking to the SNJ last week Caroline said: “It’s business as usual in our main bar downstairs at The Vault with cocktails and delicious tapas, but upstairs Raihan and his team will be serving tasty Balti dishes, and we’ll be offering a takeaway service too.”
Caroline explained what had moved her to help Raihan and his staff after the dreadful fire last year, saying: “It’s just what we do in Nailsworth, we’re a community and part of that is helping others in need.”
Over the course of last weekend, kitchens at The Vault have been refurbished to rehouse Raihan and his team, and work was quickly completed to ensure this week’s opening could go ahead as planned.

Raihan thanked all of the well wishers who had contacted him with ideas to help him keep the family business afloat, he said: “It’s absolutely brilliant the amount of support that we’ve received.
“I’d like to thank the people of Nailsworth from the bottom of my heart for all of their kindness since the fire.”
The Vaulti will be open for business from this Thursday, January 11, and Raihan and Caroline look forward to welcoming customers then.
