A new regular DJ night in Stroud, called Stroud Sessions, will launch at the end of January with the aim of providing a platform for the best talent in the area.

Featuring only performers from the five valleys it will feature DJs playing from a wide range of genres from hip hop to house, and funk to bashment.

The mastermind behind the event is Tom Monobrow, who is part of the hugely popular Stroud Calling collective, as well as a co-founder of the Stroud Block Party which draws bumper crowds to the Stroud Fringe Festival every year.

Speaking of his motivation behind setting up the regular DJ showcase Tom said: “There is so much talent in the district in relation to DJ culture, I really want to provide an opportunity for up and coming DJs to play in front of a friendly and appreciative crowd.”

The first event is set to take place at the recently re-opened Marshall Rooms, and features guests SPW (GFM) and DJ Darius (Crooked Stylus) as well as the resident DJ and curator himself, Tom Monobrow.

The event has a facebook page where aspiring DJs can upload a mix and secure a set for future events.

The Stroud Sessions Part One takes place on Saturday 27th January 2018 10-3am at The Marshall Rooms, Nelson Street, Stroud.
