A POPULAR Stroud pub will open its doors on Saturday for the first time in three months.

The Prince of Wales in Cashes Green has new landlords and they are hoping to return the pub to its former glory.

Dan Pelleschi and his partner Charlie, who have run pubs in both Weymouth and Bristol, admitted they jumped at the opportunity to take over the Prince of Wales.

“We both have a love of pubs and saw the Prince of Wales advertised,” said Dan, who is originally from the Cardiff area.

“There’s such a large amount of potential in the pub, particularly as it is the centre of the community.

“It was too good of an opportunity to turn down.”

The couple have big plans and want to return it to the kind of establishment that locals can be proud of, while welcoming people from anywhere.

“We want to involve the whole community and get everyone to enjoy what we have to offer”, said Dan.

“Our plan is to provide good quality food and drink but also offer activities such as pool, poker, bridge and even a children’s play equipment.”

The pub will open for the first time on Saturday from midday and there will be the chance to eat, drink and listen to live music.

Dan and Charlie will be using the opening day as chance to test their menu and ask everyone what they would like to see on the menu.

It will also be open for roast dinner on Sunday.
