STROUD schoolboy Dylan Berry became a mascot for Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, when they visited Southampton for a Premier League fixture.

Nine-year-old Dylan is a junior Spurs member and was randomly picked from thousands to lead out Spurs players Dele Ali, Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris.

The mega fan was lucky enough to accompany the first team players when they walked through the tunnel and out onto the turf at Southampton FC’s St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday.

Initially Dylan’s 11-year-old brother was picked but Billy knew that it would mean more to his brother, and gave up his place to him.

Speaking of the once in a lifetime opportunity Dylan said: “I can’t believe I got picked, it was definitely the best day of my life.”

Dylan, who is a pupil at St Matthews Primary School, Cainscross, received a free kit for being mascot as well as the opportunity to meet the whole team.

Earlier this season the young Spurs fan went to Wembley with  his brother and dad to witness Tottenham beat European Champions Real Madrid.

The match was screened live on Sky Sports at 4pm on Sunday.

Unfortunately the result did not go completely Spurs’ way with the match ending 1-1.

However, Dylan did see the Premier League’s top scorer Harry Kane net an equalising goal for his team after a Davidson Sanchez own goal had given Saints the lead.
