FANS of nature are invited to celebrate the first signs of spring during a two hour snowdrop and aconite walk on Sunday, February 11.

The walk, which will take place in Kingscote Woods near Horsley, will be led by Caroline Aistrop who formally worked at the Stroud Valleys Project.

Snowdrops and aconites are customarily linked to the first signs of life and colour returning to nature after the winter months, and participants should expect a rather fine example of this phenomenon.

This circular walk will also take in another nearby wood which at this time of year has a particularly striking profusion of ferns.

The walk will take place from 10am until noon on Sunday February 11 and the cost is £5 for an adult, and £2 for a child taking part.

To book a space please call 01453 753358 or visit the SVP eco shop, 8 Threadneedle Street, Stroud.

Please note that although this event is a sure sign that spring is on it's way, warm clothing is still needed. It will also likely be a very muddy walk so please wear wellies or similar sturdy shoes.
