WINNERS of the Stroud District Council 2018 amateur photography competition have been announced.

Prize-winning photographer Nick Turner helped to judge the entries along with Kel Portman and Alexander Caminada.

Nick praised the standard and talent of those who had contributed, he said: “It really is inspiring to see our beautiful countryside through the competitors’ eyes.

"The standard was really high and, choosing a winner wasn't an easy task”.

The winning entry, and two runners up, will be featured on the Visit the cotswolds website as well as being displayed on the walls of the Malthouse Bar & Kitchen at Salmon Springs, Stroud.

Winner George Ryske will also enjoy a photography session with Clifton Cameras in Dursley, dinner for two in a local restaurant and a signed book from head judge, Nick Turner.

Shirley Wood, Tourism Officer at Stroud District Council said, “We’re delighted with the response and quality of images we have received.

"We have some stunning images that give different perspectives on our beautiful area enabling us to continue to promote the area as a wonderful place to visit, live, work and invest in”.
