A POPULAR volunteer has stepped down from her role as Refreshment Shop manager at Stroud General Hospital.

Janet Smith spent more than 10 years in the position which she did free of charge.

Some of Janet’s duties included ordering stock and making sure the shop and trolley service was staffed with volunteers.

Janet was presented with a bouquet of flowers by the shop treasurer, Derrick Payne, on behalf of Stroud Hospitals League of Friends and was also very touched by the cards and vouchers from other volunteers.

She has been a real stalwart in her volunteer position and has given a great deal of energy, commitment, and hard work to the Refreshment Shop.

Janet will carry on as a volunteer at the shop for one morning a month so will still be part of the Refreshment Shop and Stroud General Hospital.
