A FORMER senior partner at the Stroud Law firm, Leigh Young, is working for justice at a sensible cost.

Margaret Young left the firm when it was taken over by BPE Solicitors in 2014.

She is now a consultant litigator with Cotswold Barristers, a set of direct access chambers Cheltenham, where she has a mediation service to try and resolve cases without going to court.

There are two other members of the mediation team, Paul Newman and Lise Seager.

The team took part in Mediation Awareness Week last autumn and gave two well-attended seminars to explain how the process works and its merits.

They are also now working with the law students at Gloucestershire University to help the next generation of lawyers understand that most people want their disputes to be resolved as efficiently and effectively and speedily as possible.

Conscious however that not all claims can resolve without at least starting the formal court process, Margaret has now also joined Fleet Solicitors of Cheltenham, as a consultant solicitor.

Hugh Davey, Managing Partner of Fleet Solicitors is pleased to have Margaret on board.

“We are delighted to welcome Margaret to the firm, said Mr Davey.

“Her drive, enthusiasm and high profile in the local business community makes her appointment a real coup.”
