ACTOR Richard E Grant has tweeted his thanks to two nurses at Stroud General Hospital for treating his head wound this evening.
The international film star, who is much-loved for his role in cult classic Withnail & I as well as dozens of other films, thanked nurses Holly and Theresa for 'sorting out' his head wound in a tweet sent at just before 7:30pm this evening.
He explained that a 'heavy metal bar' had caused the injury, before going on to joke that he was cleaned up and glued back together 'like Humpty Dumpty' by the two NHS employees.
Am truly indebted to Nurses Holly & Theresa at Stroud NHS hospital for sorting out my head wound this evening.Heavy metal bar clonked my cranium and they kindly cleaned me up & glued me together again like Humpty Dumpty! 👍

Dozens of people retweeted his message of thanks, and an equal amount replied to send him their well wishes.
One nurse from Scotland thanked him for his kind words:
As an NHS nurse working in Scotland we don't often get nice feedback. It's lovely to hear someone with such a high profile thanking staff. Speedy recovery to you 😚
