THIS week the Stroud will welcome a Bob Marley tribute band fronted by a lead vocalist whose passion matches that of the great man himself.

On Friday night the Subscription Rooms in George Street will host the Marley Experience, featuring an eight piece band fronted by Lionart who bears an undeniable vocal resemblance to the late King of Reggae.

Stroud News and Journal:

Lionart has performed on stage alongside famous Reggae stars such as Dawn Penn, Erroll Dunkley and David Rodigan, and has been the lead vocalist in bands such as the Friendly Fire Band and the Roots Ambassadors, as well as playing trumpet for Reggae band Natural Mystic.

He has performed at Glastonbury, Boomtown, One love festival, Reggae Garden festival and many more in the UK, as well as having performed extensively internationally.

When he isn’t performing, the established musician pours his time and energy into a youth studio project that aims to empower, encourage and educate local youth by developing their talents and ambitions through music technology.

Stroud News and Journal:

Lionart has a natural flare for all things Bob Marley, he is gifted with similar looks and an authentic sound, but most importantly he brings the passion of the legendry Bob Marley to his performances.

He is joined for this extraordinary evening by The Hailers, a group of seasoned professionals whose band members have appeared on stage with the likes of Pato Banton, Maxi Priest, the Skatalites and members of the original Steel Pulse to name but a few.

The band consists of drum, bass, guitars, keyboards and female backing singers to complete the line up and full experience.
