CONCERNED animal lovers are warning dog walkers to stay away from a popular pond on Rodborough common after several pets having fallen ill.
Yesterday morning a worried owner posted an update on Facebook saying several dogs who had been in the large pond on Rodborough Common, next to the Baden Powell trees, had been showing signs of sickness and diarrhoea.
Numerous dog owners have since come forward to confirm that their animals have also been affected, some of whom may have needed vet treatment.
Although it has not been confirmed that the water is causing the worrying symptoms in people’s canine companions, dog walkers are being encouraged to visit other areas of the common until the National Trust has been able to test the water.
