NAILSWORTH Rotary Club is looking for the next big artistic talent.

The club is holding a Discover the Artists Event on August Bank Holiday weekend.

Local artists are required to produce an A5-sized original piece in any style or medium, including watercolours, pastels, acrylics, collage, mixed media, photographs etc.

A campaign to promote the donated work will take place in the build up to the exhibition, with some of the work being displayed at the Stroud Subscription Rooms on Friday, August 24 and the morning of Saturday, August 25.

The public will be invited to view the exhibition and draw up their wish lists.

All work will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis on the Saturday afternoon. Participating artists will be acknowledged by name on promotional materials.

Over the past ten years, Nailsworth Rotary has raised over £145,000 for local, national and international charities, such as ‘Best for Ben’, Nailsworth Youth Club, the Arkell Centre, Nailsworth Alzheimers’ Café, Great Western Air Ambulance, Mind and ShelterBox.

All the net proceeds from the art sold will be given to charitable causes – 50% to the local art community and 50% to Rotary charities.

Anyone who would like to donate a piece of work should put their signature and details on the back.

Donations must be in by July 31 (earlier if possible), they will be exhibited anonymously and sold for £40 each in aid of charity.
