DEEP fried crème eggs have been added to a popular Stroud chippy's menu this Easter as a tasty treat for customers.
Simpson’s Fish and Chip Shop are serving deep fried Cadbury’s Crème Eggs until April 17, and donating all profits to the British Hen Welfare Trust, the largest hen rescue charity in the UK.
The delicious treats ooze warm gooey chocolate from inside the crisp casing - delicious!
Co-founder James Ritchie, of Simpsons Fish & Chips, said: "Putting our own twist on the classic Crème Egg was great fun and we learnt last year that timing is key - frying the batter so it’s deliciously crispy and lightly warming the egg but ensuring it stays firm.
"We’ve got it cracked though so if you’re tired of a battered sausage, come and try a battered Crème Egg.
"We chose to support The British Hen Welfare Trust because as well as rehoming over half a million hens in just six years, the charity actively promotes British free-range farmers, which is something we fully endorse."

The confectionery treat comprises of an authentic Cadbury’s Crème Egg – a thick milk chocolate shell housing a white and yellow fondant filling made from egg, thick white cream and sugar - which is lightly battered in the Simpsons signature batter and deep fried until warm and gooey.
£1 from each egg sold will be given to help the British Hen Welfare Trust with their work
The Simpsons Fried Crème Egg is available from the shop in Bedford Street, Stroud, until Easter Monday.
