It seems like the success of Stroud’s first vegan festival has paved the way for more vegan events in the town.

This Sunday Yogific’s Yoga and Vegan Festival at Marling School in Stroud promises to be a day filled with something for the body, mind and stomach.

The day-long festival boasts of over 50 yoga classes, meditation sessions, talks on mental health, workshops, and vegan stalls.

Food stalls selling vegan cakes, and wholly vegan dishes from a number of countries such as Sri Lanka, China, Mexico, Italy and South India.

In fact that is just some of the international cuisine that will be on offer to delight all foodies.

Over 30 yoga teachers will be leading classes and workshops at the festival, which promises to be a joint celebration of yoga and veganism.

According to the official Facebook page of the event, over 2,800 people have expressed interest in attending the event when it takes place in just a few days time.

Event organisers are Yogific, a community organisation based in London that runs such events in many places across Europe.

“We are very excited to organize our first festival in Stroud,” said a Yogific spokesperson.

“We are overwhelmed by the response - it is great to see so many vegan businesses in such a small town.

“Stroud is also home to a thriving yogi community, so we are looking forward to connecting with them too.

“We are grateful to the staff of Marling School and the team of Stroud Yoga Space for their support.”

Besides participating in yoga and meditation classes, visitors can also attend talks on the subject of mental health for a truly holistic day of health. Children’s yoga and meditation classes have also been scheduled at the festival, so the day promises to be a family event!

Stroud Yoga and Vegan Festival will take place on Sunday from 9.15 to 5pm at Marling School, Stroud.

Tickets start at just £5.
