AFTER the huge success of the first Stroud Yard Trail last summer, Stroud's biggest bargain trail is back, just in time for ‘the big spring clear out’.

Next bank holiday Monday, May 7, the streets of the famously alternative town will come alive with stalls, bric-a-brac, make shift art stalls and a whole wealth of other previously hidden treasures.

Those who want to take part in the town wide event are invited to set up a stall in a front garden, or to swing open the garage doors, for an opportunity to sell unwanted items - or just give them away!

Others might prefer to set up an impromptu craft shop, put up an art gallery or even to run a pop up cafe, its all about community, says organiser Vic Ashcroft.

"Stroud Yard Trail is a great way to get to know your neighbours, explore your community and help the planet by saving stuff from land-fill," Vic explained.

"I've always been a lover of skips, junk, car boot sales and charity shops, and Stroud is the perfect place for this event - people really get the idea.

"It's a great community fun day, as last year's event showed, we can't wait to see what hidden treasures are unearthed this year!"

Last year saw hundreds take part in the event throughout the streets, gardens and hidden spaces of the town.

Stroud's Atelier held a fabric sale in Middle Street, The Crown and Sceptre on horns Road hosted 20 stalls selling vintage clothes and other curious nik naks and of course over 50 stalls dotted the town too.

The second Stroud Yard Trail takes place on Monday May 7, those wishing to take part just need to register their yard or stall to be added to the map which visitors will use to navigate between beautiful bargains.
