Deadlines

I LOVE working to a deadline, as it can help me to focus and stay disciplined.

This Christian Comment is a good example, it has to be ready by a certain date and I even receive an email reminding me when it is due.

If you believe in setting SMART goals, then you will know that the “T” stands for “Time Bound”.

If you say that you will do a particular task sometime, the chances are that you will never do it, but set a deadline date and it provides a motivation and target.

In my last Christian Comment I mentioned that the Bible tells us that Jesus will return, but that the day and hour is unknown.

This is so important that I feel the need to mention it again.

However, as there is no deadline for His return, for some the urgency may not be apparent.

At the moment we all have a “line” to our Heavenly Father through Jesus.

I sometimes imagine this to be like a spiritual telephone line.

All of mankind can have access to this “line”, but not everyone knows the number to dial, so I will tell you J-E-S-U-S.

I like the picture of a telephone to God because nowadays most people have at least one telephone.

We live our lives through the power of the phone line, but what happens when the line goes dead?

You have another “DEADLINE”.

This DEADLINE means that your phone, internet, smart TV and maybe more no longer works.

So, how does all this relate?

Well when Jesus returns, that spiritual phone line that I mentioned, it will be cut off to anyone that hasn’t connected to it in advance and when that happens it will be a lot worse than losing your internet connection.

Making the “connection” to Jesus is as easy as saying, “sorry, thank you, please”.

Sorry for the wrong things you have done, thank you for what Jesus did for you and please come into my life Jesus.

If you say this prayer sincerely, then go and tell someone.
