What was life like in Gloucestershire between the two world wars? Historians from across the county will gather to explain just that this Saturday.
The Gloucestershire Local History Association, a voluntary group of around 50 local societies, is hosting its annual history day on April 28 from 10.30am to 4pm at Churchdown Community Centre.
Stroud’s own group will be there with a display detailing what life in the town was like between 1919 and 1939.
There’ll also be talks - including one on when Gloucester was hit by smallpox by Dr Toby Thacker of the University of Cardiff.
