Presenter and conservationist Chris Packham is now coming to Stroud for not one but two talks after the first sold out within days.

Mr Packham, known for his work with the BBC on shows like Springwatch, was set to speak at the Subscription Rooms on Friday, July 6 just in the evening.

But after “phenomenal demand”, say the organisers, he’s been booked in for a second show in the afternoon starting from 3pm for those who missed out on the first round of tickets.

His talk is part of the tenth Stroud Festival of Nature, which takes place in Stratford Park on Sunday, July 8.

“We had no doubt that Chris would be a popular choice, and so we are delighted to add a matinee show for those who missed out on the evening tickets,” said Steve Roberts, a co-director of Stroud Nature, the group behind the festival.

“The two Chris Packham shows, alongside the Big Festival of Nature make this July weekend unmissable for anyone interested in our natural world!”

Another co-director, Anna Bonallack said “the Festival itself has grown each year, with this year promising to be our best ever, with a huge number of organisations coming together to celebrate nature, including RPSB, Stroud Valleys Project, Plantlife, Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and the Town Council.”

Tickets for the Chris Packham matinee show are now available from Stroud Subscription Rooms. Tickets are £20 with a limited number of concessions at £10. There is a £1.50 booking fee.
