GLOUCESTERSHIRE police dogs need the public's help.

Police dog trainers are looking for new venues within Gloucestershire to train their police dogs.

Anyone who knows of any empty/disused buildings for their firearms support and general purpose german shepherd police dogs to learn the ropes.

Or any office complexes, large houses, colleges, stadiums which the force's drugs or explosive search dogs could use to learn to sniff out potential danger, should get in touch.

Stroud News and Journal:

Stella the staffie would welcome the opportunity to sniff about your place

Drugs and explosive search dogs can happily search safely around people so premises do not need to be empty, however the venues required for our german shepherd police dogs will need to be.

It is important for police dogs' development to receive training in realistic venues to prepare them for operational duties.

Perhaps there is a reader with an empty buildings awaiting to be let or sold we would be interested in these too, even if they are only available for a few weeks.

If you have any buildings or land which you would be happy for the police to use for training purposes then please contact PC 1541 Claire Todd via email Claire.Todd@gloucestershire.pnn.police.uk
