A MAN in Shipton Moyne has had his wallet stolen by a man posing as a police officer.

On Monday, April 30, a resident in Shipton Moyne answered the front door of his house to find a man who was claiming to be a police officer.

The thief stated that he had two men detained in his car who were in possession of a large amount of money.

He then asked the resident to check that this money hadn’t been stolen from his house.

However, once the resident was distracted, the thief took the opportunity to steal his wallet.

Cards stolen from the wallet were then used to withdraw money from an ATM in Yate around an hour later.

Officers investigating the theft have released an e-fit of a man they would like to speak in connection with the incident.

Police are looking for a man who was wearing a yellow high visibility jacket, with a grey top and dark trousers, who is thought to be in his 40s or 50s.

Anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit should call 101 quoting incident number 94 of April 30.
