CRIME scene officers are being recruited to join the Gloucestershire police force, with duties including forensic examination of crime scenes and post mortem attendance.

According to the official advertisement the crime scene investigators will be required to 'attend volume and major crime scenes to examine, preserve, recover and record all forensic evidence'.

Additionally the investigating officers must be willing to attend court to give evidence, as well as recording fingerprints and DNA in order to help capture criminals.

Anyone interested in applying for the role must have completed the College of Policing crime ccene investigator programme at stage 1 and be willing to continue their training on an ongoing basis.

Interested individuals must also be able to work under stressful and traumatic circumstances, 'dealing with situations, victims and their families in a sensitive and professional manner'.
