NEW measures have been taken to ensure the safety of cows on Minchinhampton and Rodborough common.

Minchinhampton Parish Council has produced easy peel car stickers which will be available to the community.

This is the latest step taken to raise awareness of cattle on the commons.

Designing the signs was community artist, Lucy Scott-Taggart, who provided the design in support of the resident cows.

The car stickers will soon be available from both Minchinhampton and Rodborough Parish Council offices and through community schools.

Other measures include renewing the cats eyes along the spine of the road over the commons, introducing large yellow signs and the Parish council's ANPR camera by The Bear pub.

Fortunately, this helped reduce last year's fatalities to a single cow.

The signs will contain the popular community slogan 'kill your speed not us'.
