I SUSPECT that most local political parties will have rubbed their hands in joy after having read Wanda Lozinska’s letter (SNJ May 2) in which she defends Momentum.

They now have written confirmation from a Labour insider that this Marxist faction has now embedded itself inside Stroud Labour headquarters.

Ms Lozinska’s letter may well be framed by them for use at next general election.

The lady’s assumption that I have ‘no idea’ about Momentum because I’m not a member is offensive.

She alleges that mainstream media regularly misleads the British public about Momentum but it cannot all be fake especially when members of the Parliamentary Labour Party have expressed serious concerns about this party within a party.

I’m sure Ms Lozinska and her Momentum co-workers help out at the Labour office which is same for every constituency in the country.

These helpers from all parties must be congratulated and thanked for their efforts as I offer my own towards Ms Lozinska.

However, she should be aware that her increase of workload is as a direct consequence of the global financial crisis of 1998 when we were told our grandchildren would still be paying off debts incurred from that time.

Indeed Labour, the then governing party, knew of the coming economic storm and introduced foodbanks.

Ms Lozinska has adopted the mantra of shooting the messenger rather than the message.

I wrote a non-partisan letter in which I stated that the LibDems would regain a lot of support.

The recent by-elections have proved me right with the LibDems gaining almost as many seats as Labour (75 & 77) plus gaining control of three councils.

At time of writing Labour has shown no inclination to a split as it did in 1981 with the SDP and that is why I feel assured that many former soft-left Labour supporters will vote Lib Dem in 2020.

They will do so hoping to keep the Conservatives out of government.

The future does not bode well for Labour.

Ms Lozinska should know that I belong to no political party so should refrain from claiming that I do.
