EMERGENCY services are responding to reports of a person being hit by a train between Gloucester and Cheltenham.

A British Transport Police spokesperson confirmed that the incident was reported at just after 4pm today, but were unable to confirm any additional details.

The location of the accident is believed to be a rural location, and police are in attendance and further details will be released when they are able to confirm what happened.

Train services between Gloucester and Cheltenham are currently suspended, but replacement buses are in place.

Delays are expected to be in place until 7pm this evening, while emergency services deal with the situation.
